Trump and Kushner seem to be acting out a charade to keep their audiences on the straight and narrow path. Kushner would be Trump's Mephistopheles in Goethe's Faust, in the second part, of course, where Mephistopheles has become more of a colleague and adviser and even lets you consider whether his ideas about good and bad are better than Faust's and, yes, also somewhat more useful. So Trump makes a good Faust.
Whether Kushner could be a Mephistopheles is not so sure, because of him one has seen little ... and heard less.
